Lemon Ginger Blast (Inspired by Lou Corona)

Updated: Nov 13, 2018

This drink will wake your system right up!

Dan MacDonald the Life Regenerator was the first person I heard this recipe from.

I absolute LOVE his YouTube channel. He literally has a juice recipe for everything.

See below to learn how I make this nutrient dense life regenerating green juice :)

This super hydrating green juice is packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, chlorophyll, and much more goodness.

Anti-inflammatory, heavy metal detoxification, lymphatic system stimulation, digestive system stimulation. There's no reason not to at least try have this amazing recipe.

I used:

1 Bunch Kale

1 Bunch Spinach

1 Bunch Watercress

1 Bunch Cilantro

1 Bunch Parsley

1/2 Field Cucumber (The one without the shiny wax coating)

2 Inches Fresh Turmeric (Or 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder)

1/4 - 1/2 Hot Bell Pepper (or 1 full pepper for people with a higher pepper tolerance)

3 inches Fresh Ginger (Less or more depending on your spice tolerance)

1 Lemon (Organic is preferred)

Water (Distilled, drinking water is preferred)

*I like to use the entire lemon because the skin has 5 - 10 times the nutrients as the juice does. They are an excellent source of fiber, potassium, magnesium, calcium, folate, and beta carotene. Lemon peels improve bone health too! They also contain high amounts of calcium and vitamin C. So if you decide to use the skin in your juice, be sure to wash your lemon very well and try to buy organic.

*Note: Feel free to play around with the quantities to make it taste the best for you.

No juicer? No problem!

I haven't invested in a juicer yet so for now I use either my blender or my Nutri-Bullet depending on how much I'm making. I'll tell you how to make it into a juice shortly.

Instructions

1. Put the greens in the blender first with the water

2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender after cutting them into smaller pieces

3. Blend until completely liquefied

4. Pour into a nut milk bag that is placed in a bowl and squeeze as much juice out as you can

5. Strain the bowl of juice into the cup that you will be drinking or storing your juice in.

Nut milk bags are pretty cheap and easy to come by. You can get them from Bed Bath and Beyond, Amazon and eBay for prices ranging from $5 - $10. Also, if you're the DIY type, there are plenty of tutorials online on how to make your own nut milk bag with items you my already have at home :)
